2. This lecture was first placed on three tape recording reels in April, 1961. But due to its high spiritual value, many have requested its publication.
3. Every Latter-day Saint who has passed through our Holy LDS Temple Endowments was there clothed with the original style garment. Its outstanding collar, with four corners, six strings, no buttons, with full length arms and legs has no divine resemblance to any of the modern substitutes. Nor do any of these modern inventions have any divine sanction or protection against the evil powers and workings of Lucifer and his host.
4. We were there, in these divine Temples, told to wear them next to our body, throughout mortal life. And you were there given God's sacred promises of certain most vital blessings if we obeyed.
5. Question: If you are one who has thrown off that Divine Garment, and taken it upon yourself to entirely change its pattern, then what can you expect from God Almighty? His answer is found in revelation, D. & C. 84:44, I quote: "For you shall live by every Word that proceedeth forth from the mouth of God." Also in Sec. 82:10, quote: "I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say, but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise." Now if you are wearing one of these ten more or less modern styles -- just how far do you expect to get with them? God's answer: Just as far as those who change His water immersion baptism to sprinkling.
6. Moses wrote that God would judge those who changed his writings. John the Revelator, in Rev. 22:18-21, wrote: "If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this Book. And if any man shall take away from the words of the Book of this Prophecy -- God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life and out of the Holy City."
7. Isa. 24:5 states: "The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinances, broken the everlasting Covenant." Apostle Joseph Fielding Smith in his long sermon in the Deseret News Church Section. Oct. 17. 1936, tells us: that this prophecy refers to the Latter-day Saints and not to the Catholics; that they never had these "ordinances and covenants."
8. Question: Are we not fulfilling the prophecy of Jesus Christ in Matt. 15:8-9: "This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth. . .; But in vain they do worship me, teaching for Doctrines the Commandments of men."
9. Many, yes 95%, of our Latter-day Saints refuse to wear this original pattern of the "Marriage Garment." They hate criticism, and they love the eyes and the praise of tongues of this wicked world. Jesus sounds warning in Luke 6:26, "Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the False Prophets."
10. Jesus, in John 15:19, tells us: "I have chosen you out of the World, therefore the world hateth you."
11. Now these divine garments can be so worn without the slightest changes or mutilation, that the eyes of this Satanic World sees them NOT. You at least have the right ones on. And if there be any error - that Sin will also fall on those Having Wicked Eyes.
12. But you answer: These new styles have been approved by our holy Apostles, Prophets and Seers. Question: Can man or woman change God's laws. NAY.
13. God, in several revelations commanded Joseph Smith to make certain corrections in the King James translation of the Bible. I quote Joseph Smith, DHC 1:324: "I completed the translation and review of the New Testament, on the 2nd of February, 1833, and sealed it up, No more to be opened till it arrived in Zion, Mo., at the press."
14. In this Inspired Version, by Joseph Smith the Seer and 3rd member of the Holy Trinity, he added God's interpretation to the parable in Mark, Chap. 9, wherein Jesus taught them that if their foot, hand or eye offended them, by leading them astray -- for them to cot them off and pluck the eye out. In this revision Joseph tells us that the "Hand" is your "brother"; that the "foot" is your "standard, by whom thou walkest;" i.e. your husband or Bishop: I quote: "And if shine eye which seeth for thee, HIM that is appointed to watch over thee, to show thee light, becomes a transgressor and offend thee," (i.e. by leading you astray with Gospel changes) "Pluck him out.... For it is better that thyself should be saved than to be cast into Hell with thy brother." In other words: We must follow Jesus Christ, and only those who teach His Doctrine. Else we are no better than man-made churches.
15. Question: Is this one of many additions found in this Inspired Version why we are now counseled by modern leaders not to buy or accept this divine version? Yes, indeed.
16. Question: Our Church has a perfect copy of the Ms. of this Inspired Version in their Archives; If the Re-organized LDS Church has changed it -- why do our seers not print a true version? Answer: The verdict is against them. Now this is only ONE proof, out of a hundred, why the ten new styles have no divine sanction, or protection. So said Pres. Heber J. Grant, in person, whom I shall soon quote.
17. This Priesthood Marriage Garment symbolizes the greatest Gospel Subjects. It represents the very cream or gateway to eternal Celestial Glory with our Father and Savior in their Celestial New Jerusalem. They represent the very fullness of the Patriarchal Gospel. This garment cannot be separated from eternal plural Celestial marriage. But strange to say, not one in 90, perhaps 1 in 95 wear them, or appreciate their value.
18. There are certain things, however, such as Temple grips, signs, tokens and passwords and their meanings that can only be explained in Holy Places and to those who have passed through our Holy Sanctuaries. Hence, must be held in abeyance. But these garments, says President John Taylor, can be described and are divinely designed only for mortals, not angels: and they must be worn throughout mortality, and into the grave -- but not beyond.
19. The preaching of this subject to 95% to 97% of our temple-going sisters and the priesthood - is like preaching to rolling stones; rolling on to certain degrees of damnation, i.e., they will inherit a lesser degree of Glory. Their pride for foolish worldly things, is greater than their love for the Gospel and the Lord Himself. I can truly understand why the Lord refers to a good, righteous and true Temple Covenant Woman, as a Jewel, and the man who has two or more of them is richer than the wealth of the world. Two or more of them fully and divinely entitles him and them to wear these Holy Garments to the "Marriage Supper of the Lamb," AND into the Highest Celestial Glory; i.e. One Positive Requirement.
20. These garments are also divinely given unto us to daily represent, remind and symbolize the Holy Covenants we have made in our Temples, and daily assist us never forget or drift away. They are also given unto us, who properly wear and appreciate their -- divine protection, not from cars on the highway, but more so from the evil powers and acts of Satan and his host.
21. They seek to destroy every man and woman who are truly trying to live the Fullness of the Gospel. For these evil ones fully know that only those who are living the fullness of the Gospel are on their way to God and Goddess-hood. Our lukewarm Saints do not need divine protection, for Satan is their friend. He will not hurt them.
22. Some bitterly complain that the wearing of these original Priesthood Garments, openly mark us as being not of the world. This, to some degree, may be true. But have you not seen thousands of Satan's to some degree, friends, who have designed certain very odd hats, collars and clothing to mark their identity. If they are not ashamed of their religion, then why in the name of Heaven, are you ashamed to be recognized as one of God's Latter-day Saints?
23. You must ever remember that in doing so you are damning your own selves. For says our Christ, in Mark 8:38: "Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the Glory of His Father with the Holy Angels." Think this over. It is dynamite.
24. The most of you know that Satan is impersonated in our Holy Temple services and that he there tells you in substance that: "if you break one of these covenants or promises that you have made in this House at this altar -- you will be in my power." He, Lucifer, is better informed than any mortal man. He well knows that all Gospel ordinances are plain and simple; but when you change them -- you become spiritually blind and a co-worker with him. This is modern Mormonism.
25. Three times in my life, Satan tried to destroy me. First, when I was baptized, and second, when I was ordained an Elder and had the Melchizedek Priesthood conferred upon me in November, 1912; and third, just before I started on my long mission to preach the fullness of the Gospel, beginning June, 1936, in Long Beach, California.
26. From Germany he, Lucifer, quickly came into my bedroom with destruction in his wicked black eyes. Three times while wide awake, I rebuked him as a High Priest in the regular Priesthood manner, but slowly on he came. At this moment I was standing within 13 to 15 feet from him, and had failed to stop him. Suddenly my guardian Angel appeared and gave me another language in which to rebuke him: This, with the angel's presence; he stopped, stared and retreated into the next room and left. At that time the Brethren had instructed us to wear the new, approved style garment, and Satan knew that I had no Priesthood power with them on to rebuke him. It was that experience that converted me.
27. I know a railroad man whose leg was run over by the largest railroad coal car, a gondola The wheels cut his two pairs of pants (it being mid-winter in Idaho), two pairs heavy long socks, his skin, flesh and bone, but his original-style garment leg held his foot and lower ankle in place all the way to the hospital. There, he refused to let them cut his leg off square, due to his seeing his garment not cut by the wheels. A month later we saw him dance a jig and walk 95% perfect. Satan tried to destroy him. There are thousands of such miracles.
28. Now back to our subject: Did our God Father, mortal Adam, wear these Priesthood garments? Yes. He, then as Michael, a resurrected celestial, immortal God Being, entered Eden, after he had created it, and began to eat of the fruits of that certain "tree of knowledge of Good An Evil," which was cultured, says Joseph Smith, ages before by the ancient Gods -- to create red mortal blood in resurrected immortal beings -- much faster than normal fruits. This course turned Immortal Michael into mortal Adam. So it was Michael who fell -- not Adam. . .
29. Now this is ancient Mormonism. But this is now declared to be viciously false doctrine. The Brethren now teach that we are Spirit I children of Eloheim, the Father of Michael-Adam, that through some kind of an agreement (i.e. perhaps land or financial consideration) I Michael agreed to bring one of the unknown Eloheim Spirit children into mortality -- some agreement. In Texas, when a man tries to bring another man's children into mortality -- they shoot him, or hang him --sometimes both. My friends: This is apostasy in high places.
30. It is a known fact that up to the dedication of the Salt Lake City Temple, April, 1893 -- the LDS knew no other Father-God, but Michael, who became Adam, and who 927 years later, became God at his ordination to this office under the hands of his ancient Christ, Yahovah, at the "Valley of Adam-Ondi-Ahman", and the first born spirit son of Michael is named Jehovah, our Savior and Elder Brother, the Christ.
31. Orson Pratt, in his Seer, pages 88-89 says: "There was another tree in the Garden of Eden, whose fruit possessed qualities of an opposite nature to that of the 'Tree of Knowledge'. It was called the 'Tree of Life'. This tree was calculated to produce endless life; it would change mortality into immortality." Pratt at this point quotes the Lord, in Genesis 3:22, to Adam and the Angels, saying: "And now lest he (Adam) put forth his hand and take also of the Tree of Life, and eat, and live forever.
32. This "Tree of Life" possesses a divine substance that will drive out all form of mortal weakness, blood, sickness and change the flesh and bone into a pure, eternal substance that never decays, hence celestial immortal, for the eternal spirit body to dwell within. But Adam did not eat of this Tree of Life until he had brought a good nucleus of his Spirit Children into mortality. This he had accomplished at the age of 927-930.
33. Orson Pratt, in J. of D. 13:1~7 said: "While Adam is called an Arch-angel--yet he is a God." It is truly conceded by the learned in Mormondom that Michael, under the supervision of His Ancient Savior, Yahovah, was the Chief Creator of our earth. Now Orson Pratt, in his Seer, page 37, tells us: "Thus, each God forms a world for the accommodation of his own (spirit) sons and daughters, who are sent forth in their times and seasons and generations to be born into the same. The inhabitants of each world are required to reverence, adore and worship their own personal Father, who dwells in the Heavens, which they (you and I) formerly inhabited."
34. It is good that we determine just who is Michael-Adam, for from him we obtained our original Garment. Enoch tells us that he was the Senior Arch-angel and from Moses and Joseph Smith we learn that he became part mortal through his eating a special mortal food, which should be known as the Fall of Michael.
35. But, from the learned Apostle Orson F. Whitney in his Elias, page 128, we learn that it was not a real sin. Just the love of an immortal Father, who also desired to be the mortal Father of his own spirit children. A real, says Whitney, is one that is "evil in itself." "That which is wrong because of forbidden by law. The transgression of our First Parents (was just the breaking of a celestial law) and the consequent descent from an immortal to a mortal condition -- this was the fall."
36. Brigham Young, in his full and final instruction to the missionaries leaving Utah, in a special conference, held August 28, 1852, and recorded in Mill. Star 15:17, in the 1853 Supplement, said: "After men have got their exaltation and their crowns; have become Gods, even the Sons of God. . . they have the power then of propagating their species in spirit, and that is the first of their operations with regard to organizing a world. Power is then given to them to organize the elements, and then commence the organization of tabernacles. How can they do it? Have they to go to that earth? Yes, and Adam will have to go there and he cannot do without Eve; . . . and they will go into the Garden and continue to eat and drink of the fruits of the corporeal world, until this grosser matter is diffused sufficiently through their celestial bodies, to enable them, according to the established laws, to produce mortal tabernacles for their spirit children. This is a KEY for you."
37. My friends: This glorious sermon of Brigham Young is worth everything to us. It confirms: (1) that righteous, resurrected men become Gods, in due time; (2) that they, with their plural wives have spirit children; (3) then they are given knowledge and power to create an earth; (4) then they fill their veins with mortal blood; (5) then they begin to bring their spirit children into mortality; (6) after having brought a good nucleus of them into a mortal world, taught them the Gospel, raised some to be Seers, as was Enoch, conferring the Keys of a Dispensation upon him, then the Father and Mother are able to leave them to travel alone.
38. Then what? Answer: They go back to the "Tree of Life" and continue to eat and drink of its fruits until all forms of mortality and its weaknesses are removed and their bodies make pure again, not subject to death. (7) Just before that time his Christ comes and re-ordains him to the highest known Priesthood office - i.e. from Adam to God. The office of Adam being dual in nature, i.e. a divine God and a mortal Father. This is known as the Michael-Adam-God doctrine.
39. In the days of Joseph Smith certain good brethren asked him about Adam. He said in part: "Now regarding to Adam: he came here from another planet (the sun) an immortal Being, and brought his wife, Eve with him, and by eating of the fruits of this earth became subject to death and decay and he became of the earth earthly, and was made h mortal and subject to death."
40. This statement was copied down at the time by Anson Call. From it Patriarch John M. Whittaker of Nauvoo, obtained a copy. Years later, his son John M., a Patriarch of Salt Lake City obtained his father's copy. After Call moved to Utah, B. H. Roberts, Church Historian and president of all Seventies, copied same from Call's Journal, from which I have a copy. Both copies agree identical. Years ago Patriarch Whittaker printed many copies for his Prove Seminary students with Joseph Fielding Smith's permission.
41. In another glorious printed statement by Joseph Smith, and published in his official LDS paper, "Times and Seasons", this same Michael-Adam-God story is fully confirmed. It is entitled "The Paracletes, or Holy Ones;" and nicknamed "Joseph's Speckled Bird." It also states: (1) that Michael became Adam and ruled on earth for about 1000 years; (2) that he was the main creator; (3) that our elder brother was the first spirit born son of Michael and not of Eloheim; (4) that each spirit child of Michael, before he obtained permission to come into mortality, had to first qualify and agree to take all that Father Michael saw fit to put upon him, in order to develop him, to the best of his father's ability: (5) that the most ancient Gods developed these two special trees; (6) that it was agreed in heaven before the earth was created, that all the children who lived the same fullness of the Gospel as the Father, or his eldest Son, our Savior, did would inherit the same degree of glory with them; (7) that Michael and Eve came here to become mortal and the father and mother of their own spirit children. The great U.S. historian, Bancroft wrote: that the Mormons taught that Adam was their Father God.
42. All this goes to prove that Adam did not die, but went back to immortality; and form other Holy records we learn that he, during his life as a mortal, wore the original Priesthood marriage Garment the same as was revealed to Joseph Smith. Alma, in the Book of Mormon tells us that is was through these two special trees that brought Adam into and took him out of mortality; and that a resurrected Immortal Being cannot die or go into the grave. Alma 11:45; 12:22-23. Hence, Adam did not die.
43. Apostle Parley P Pratt tells us that the "Tree of Life will be brought back to earth with the return of the City of Enoch: It will be this "Tree of Life" that man will eat of during the 1000 year reign of Christ, that will do away with death and the grave and change their 120-year old bodies to immortality. If the children can do this, so did the Father.
44. Question: What became of Adam's original God-given garments? From the Book of Jasher, Chapt. 7, we learn that they went to Enoch, to Methuselah, to Noah, and finally to Ham, by his stealing them, thence to his son Cush, then to Nimrod, who wore them for the first time since Adam when Nimrod was 20 years old. This same record states that Nimrod was able to kill all manner of wild beast and win great battles when wearing these Garments.
45. They were divinely blessed that the world might have an example of their value and protecting power. In Rev. 3:4, John refers to certain ones "who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me (i.e. Christ) in White: for they are worthy." We are told that their white color represents purity. In Matt. 22:1-14 and Rev. 19:1-9, they are called "Wedding Garments".
46. Jesus, here in parable form, refers to His Father giving a great marriage feast in honor to His firstborn Son, our Jesus, whom He, the Father, is about to enthrone as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, for a thousand years. His bride will be those who have made good in the Gospel. Now comes the inspection of the invited guests. One man is found at the table without his "wedding garment'. From here I quote: "And when the King (evidently the Father) came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a 'Wedding Garment'. And He said unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless." (he had no excuse) "Then said the King to His Servants, bind him hand and foot and take him away... For many are called, but few are chosen." Few wear them and few live the fullness of the Gospel.
47. Question: If the Savior would come today and take up his bride, His Church, to the planet of Enoch, how many would have ON the old, original-style Priesthood Wedding Garment? Perhaps one in 95. Now then: either put on the old original Garment OR be carried out of "the Marriage Supper of the Lamb." John in Rev. 19:1-9 speaks of this Supper: "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him, for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready... Blessed are they which are called unto the Marriage Supper of the Lamb." (i.e. those caught up to meet Him.)
48. Matt. 25:1-13, speaks of the five wise and five unwise virgins who went out to meet the Bridegroom, at His coming in "Glory". Five of them had no oil;, the other five had none to loan; I quote: "While the Bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept." i.e. Christ is to delay His coming form the foretold or proper time. This fully explains why I have had to extend my approximate dates. D.& C. 45:56-71.
49. And they all slumbered until the very moment of His midnight coming. Verse 10: "And while they (the five) went to buy, the Bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterwards came also the other (5) virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us: But He answered, Verily I say unto you, I know you not." Now this is equivalent to deathbed repentance.
50. From Apostle Lorin C. Woolley and our oldest righteous sisters of the "Kingdom" we learn that the type of oil that will be scarce will include this original pattern garment and the right to wear them. For they must be obtained through Temple Endowments or through the true Kingdom Priesthood Apostleship. In the Young Woman's Journal Vol. 1. pp. 268-9 our Temple Priesthood garments are also called our "Wedding Garments". Our body being "the Temple of God." I Cor. 3:16-17; D. & C. 93:35; J N.2:21.
51. In the LDS original Temple marriage covenant, and which is still in use, the man and woman agree to two things (1) that they accept each other (I quote) "for time and all eternity"; and the second immediately follows. I quote: "With a covenant and promise on your", part, that you will fulfill ALL the laws, rites, and ordinances, pertaining to this HOLY MATRIMONY, in the new and everlasting covenant, doing this in the presence of God, Angels and these witnesses, of your own free will and choice," This was brought out in a recent court trial.
52. According to all our early leaders, this promise includes that you will also enter into plurality at your first opportunity. It is now common knowledge that this second part of the marriage covenant has been outlawed by the U.S. Government and modern leaders of the LDS Church. I have referred to this second part of our Temple Marriage, which calls for plurality, solely, due to the fact that this Holy principle is boldly symbolized on our original Priesthood garments, which, of course is my subject.
53. With this prelude - we can now review the original Garment itself. (1) It has collar made in two halves, with four square corners, the division in the back forming a compass. The four corners represent the Trinity and the one who is wearing the garment; as a whole: it is the yoke of Christ, the crown of the Priesthood. A symbol that you have accepted them. Also that you will receive a square deal. It has 3 pairs of strings, 3 on the right and 3 on the left. The 3 on the right side represent the Trinity; the 3 on the left, the man and his two minimum wives required to enter the two highest divisions in the Celestial Glory. i.e. citizenship requirement to enter into the Celestial New Jerusalem, which will include the Celestial habitation of our Father and Savior.
54. This is something to think about, as well as to greatly worry about. And if the Lord does not give the Saints a second chance, during the "Kingdom" or "Millennial Reign" periods, few will enter the two highest glories in that great Celestial City, the New Jerusalem. But everyone will, in time, have at least a chance. Next is the center or navel mark, one inch long. It must be cut one-half inch on each side; it truly represents a positive divine promise of certain blessings and vital mortal strength and health when the 3 pairs of strings are tied in three neat bow knots, thus making a one-inch opening across the center.
55. These 3 double bow knots also represent the eternal Priesthood marriage tie between the Trinity and the man and his families. On the right breast is the square extending one inch out and one inch up, the same as the arm to the square. It represents the justice and fairness of our Heavenly Father and that we will receive all we earn, or a square deal, according to our works. On the left breast is the compass, but with both arms pointing upward. It indicates that we must stay within our spiritual bounds, also representing that the garment, the marriage ties, the Holy Spirit and Priesthood will be your compass guide -- as the North Star is to the traveler. This INCH was God's basic Polar diameter. (& Pyramid) meas.: 500,000,000 P.
56. Now the knee mark. It being cut one inch across, at the height of the right knee, indicating the Father demands that every knee is to bow and acknowledge that Jesus is the Christ. The length of the arms and legs are to extend to the wrists and ankles, so that it forms a covering for the body. The entire garment is to be cut tall - so as to give the body perfect freedom and coverage, there being a 4 inch overlap in the back. They must be of white material: the weight of cloth is not given. And thus we have a brief of the LDS Temple Priesthood "Marriage Garment".
57. Practically all of this description of this garment pattern was given in President John Taylor's 8-hour sermon of September 27, 1886. This description and the writing of the Sept. 1886 revelation followed the personal visitation of our Savior and Joseph Smith to Pres. Taylor. On the evening of the 26th the lukewarm brethren gave him a Manifesto to sign -- to abandon plural marriages. Taylor went to the Lord in a serious prayer, which resulted in the Lord and Joseph Smith personally coming to him and giving the Sept. 1886 revelation.
58. The 9th verse reads: `'I have not revoked this law, NOR WILL I, for it is everlasting and those who will enter into my Glory must obey the conditions thereof; Even so, Amen." This is also something to think about.
59. This garment description, as I have quoted to you, was copied by one of the most honest Latter-day Saints, Daniel R. Bateman, who attended this 8-hour sermon. This description and the following quotations were copied from Bateman's daily journal and printed in a letter over Bateman's signature. I quote:
60. "In that meeting the importance and sacredness of the garments were explained by Pres. John Taylor. Part of the time he stood in mid-air with a halo of light around him. Pres. Taylor told us the time would come when changes in the garment would be made, and it was necessary for the brethren to have the correct understanding of the pattern and meaning of the marks, so as to be able to teach the Saints at that time. He told us that it was the true pattern of the garment given to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and it all had a sacred meaning." Truth Magazine Aug. 1936. Jan 1937: (Gen. 3:21)
61. It was from Lorin C. Woolley (same record) that we learn that it was John W. Woolley who stated in a meeting that the two Angels who revealed this garment to the Prophet Joseph Smith, was no other than our Savior and one of his wives. This is also proof that it is the "Wedding Garment".
62. I now quote from Pres. Joseph F. Smith's sermon, recorded in Improvement Era. 9:812-4: "The Lord has given unto us garments of the Holy Priesthood, and you know what that means. And yet there are those of us who mutilate them, in order that we may follow the foolish, vain, and permit me to say, indecent practices of the world. In order that such people may imitate the fashions they will not hesitate to mutilate that which should be held by them the most sacred of all things in the world, next to their own virtue, next to their own purity of life. They should hold these things that God has given unto them sacred, unchanged and unaltered from the very pattern in which God gave them. Let us have the moral courage to stand against the opinions of fashion, and especially where fashion compels us to break a covenant and so commit a grievous sin."
63. Now then, there must be several hundred thousands of LDS who are hanging their future glory on Pres. Grant's authority to viciously destroy by fully changing the pattern of these Holy garments. I now quote his own words given at the time he sanctioned this change.
64. We personally know living witnesses who heard him say in a meeting just after the change, from the Tabernacle pulpit that: "The changes in the garment were neither by revelation nor inspiration, but to please the sisters, and encourage the young people to go through the Temple." Again, in the Temple, Pres. Grant stated, I quote: "The new style is authorized and approved, but without divine protection; that we prayed about it, but received no answer." This very fact alone should disqualify them. Question: Then please tell me, what good are they?
65. Furthermore, when Pres. Grant was stricken with his first stroke in February, 1940 in California, when he realized that he was about to die, he ordered six pairs of the old or original pattern to be sent "Extra - hot rush" to the Los Angeles hospital. My wife at that very time was working at the Salt Lake Knitting Works, and she worked on this rush order. Some three years later he ordered six more pairs; her girl friend, Minnie Carpenter, worked on them. He formerly wore the new style, no collar or strings, but with long legs and buttons.
66. My friends, his two statements which I have quoted, and his going back to the original pattern should be ample proof for anyone who wants the truth and divine protection. John D. Lee, as General Secretary of the Seventies Quorums in Nauvoo recorded: that Parley P. Pratt stated that the whiteness of the garment represented righteousness.
67. B. H. Roberts, Church Historian, and president of all the Seventies, stated in a prayer circle, that the ribbon connecting the cap with the robe, represented "UNION WITH GOD". This is beautiful.
68. In our Temple Endowments we are officially told that this "Garment is a shield and a protection against the powers of the evil one.
69. Now then: We know that it was Satanic forces, working with evil mortal men, that killed the Prophet Joseph Smith; and the most of you have heard the Satanic story that the original pattern did not have a collar. To all this I answer: that there are still several pairs of garments brought here from Nauvoo and they all have the collar and strings. Furthermore, we have the signed Notarized statement, dated September 22, 1940 of Sarah Louise Elder, of Ogden, Utah, 2025 Wall Ave., at least it was signed at that location. I quote from it: "Just before going to Carthage, he Joseph Smith, came to one of his wives and stated to her that it was to be that he should lay down his life as a martyr to the testimony he bore, but that his enemies could not take his life while he was wearing his garments. So he took them off before leaving for Carthage. My mother (her mother) stated to me that the garments at that time had the collar and strings on." Temple witnesses tell us that some of our Apostles wear these abbreviated styles while sealing couples for Eternity.
70. Apostle Parley P. Pratt was given a wonderful vision of seeing a round circle cloud in the sky, quickly formed itself into a long straight line (the knee mark), then into a perfect square, then into a perfect compass, then back into a straight line, the center or navel mark; and he fell down on his knees in the street and gave thanks to God.
71. For centuries the Masonic Order taught that Masonry began with Solomon's Temple. But after the two tall stone monuments - Cleopatra's Needles - from Egypt were brought, one to London in 1879, and one to New York in 1881, they changed their teachings. The one in New York City has a perfect square and compass and other symbols carved near its base. Their historian, Hutchinson, now tells us that: "primitive masonry was derived from Adam." Note: He should have said "its fullness".
72. Some of you may object to my complaints. But permit me to quote our most learned Apostle, Joseph Fielding Smith. He first stated that we formerly taught that it was the Catholics who had broken God's Everlasting Covenant, but he excused them as they never had them. Then said he: that it is the Latter-day Saints who have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinances and broken the everlasting covenant, of Isa. 24:5." Recorded in the Deseret News Church Section. October 17, 1936.
73. One of our greatest major proofs that our LDS Temple covenant Garments, signs and symbols have been divinely restored, comes from Daniel 8:14; wherein God gave unto Daniel a 2300 year period - that is conceded - terminated April 6, 1844; wherein Apostle Orson Hyde tells us that all of us (the Apostles) had their full endowments on or before April 4, 1844. Mill. Star 5:151.
74. Five of our 1928 Apostles gave me in writing that I had in my book "The Time of the End" contributed new evidence confirming Mormonism, i.e. sanctuary restoration.
75. Question: What proof have we today that we have true copies of the original garment pattern? Answer: When the Saints were driven across the river at Nauvoo, on their way to Utah, Emma Smith, the Prophet's first wife, came across the river and gave Martha Harris Smith, Hyrum's wife, a package stating: "You will have more use for these than I; they are the original garments cut out by the two Angels and given to Joseph."
76. Now after Martha had lived her day, she sent for Pres. Joseph F. Smith and their friend, Minnie Raymond, who at that time was also living in Provo. These three met and Martha told Minnie the full history of this original garment, then asked Pres. Joseph F. Smith to confirm it, which he did in full. Now this Minnie has cut out several hundred garments from this original pattern, also full Temple robes. So you see that the original style is still with us for those who want them.
77. After Minnie Raymond had reached the very near end of her life, a divine messenger came and took them. If each Latter-day Saint would watch and guard their own garments, as well as the Lord has followed this original pair, we will do well. This Minnie Raymond was told by this messenger several years before her death to cut out 100 full Temple robes. This she did, and they will be worn, said the messenger, by those who labor first after the Church is set in order. They, too, were cut out per a true pattern.
78. Now comes the bitter pill to some and time prohibits proof. But from Joseph Smith, through John Taylor and many ancient records, we are told that Michael brought three wives with him - Eve, Sarah and Lilith. If he had not then he could not demand that his children live this same law in order to inherit his degree of Glory. Women of Mormondom" Chapter XX; J. D. 26:115. Think this over.
79. And it is conceded by the learned that Jesus Christ had many wives, both in Wales and Palestine. The noted, ancient, medical physician, Celsus, whose works on theology were burned by the Catholics, wrote: "The grand reason why the Gentiles and philosophers of his school persecuted Jesus Christ, was because he had so many wives." This statement has been quoted by Pres. Jedediah M. Grant, Apostle Orson Hyde and others.
80. Now this explains why God answered NO to Pres. John Taylor and Pres. Woodruff's prayers -- if they should sign a Manifesto. I briefly quote from two of the four last revelations, two given to Taylor and two to Woodruff. Verses 9 and 10. 1882 Revelation: "And let my Priesthood humble themselves before me, and seek NOT their own will, but MY will; for if my Priesthood, whom I have chosen and called. . . do not acknowledge me I will not acknowledge them."
81. Verses 20 and 21. Nov. 24. 1889 Revelation to Woodruff: "I, the Lord, will deliver my Saints from the dominion of the wicked in my own due time and way. I cannot deny my Word, neither in blessings nor judgments. Therefore let mine anointed GIRD up their loins, watch and be sober, and KEEP my commandments."
82. But they refused to obey and called their own 1890 Manifesto a divine revelation. Now then, when the Government officers heard of this Nov. 24, 1889 true revelation, they declared that they would now confiscate private property. This frightened the LDS and they, through pressure, forced Pres. Woodruff to agree with the officers that he would sign a Manifesto as soon as one could be drawn up satisfactory to both sides thus ignoring the Nov. 1889 Revelation to him. This was and is the last revelation given to the LDS Church.
83. This vicious course caused the Kingdom Priesthood to unseat Pres. Woodruff from also presiding over them in the Kingdom Priesthood. And in Woodruff's Conference Sermon, Sunday, Aug. 3, 1890, at Logan, as recorded in Mill Star 52:593-5, he named those who not only held the Keys of the Church, BUT also of the Kingdom Priesthood. He named Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and John Taylor. Beginning here, I quote: "And when he (Pres. John Taylor) passed away it fell upon me for a little while."
84. From these few verses you surely can see that our 1890 manifesto is 100% manmade. And when our U. S. Pres. Harrison read it to Congress, he told them: "that it was NOT a revelation from God. That Pres. Woodruff does NOT RENOUNCE the doctrine, but refrains from teaching it." Scores of trial copies were made before the last one.
85. You should also remember that Pres. Joseph F. Smith was forced to say, in order to keep Senator Smoot in office, that we do not go back of 1905 to defend our disobedience (for 15 years) to the 1890 Manifesto. But beginning in 1905 he really tried to stop it.
86. Pres. Charles W. Penrose, at a Bristol Priesthood Conference on May 25, 1908, acknowledged, I quote him: "I, Charles W. Penrose, wrote the Manifesto with the assistance of Frank J. Cannon, and John White. It is no revelation from God -- FOR I WROTE IT. Wilford Woodruff signed it to beat the devil at his own game."
87. Joseph Fielding Smith said: "Not all Latter-day Saints will be numbered among the Church of the Firstborn, that only they who live the fullness of the Gospel, of ALL ages, will have this title, inheritance and glory."
88. For many years I have preached to the Saints to go back to the original garment. But I now realize that the same man (Pres. Heber J. Grant) who made our Gospel changes, is also the father of the garment changes. The two go hand in hand. No Priesthood conferred for 40 years, hence no collar. War against polygamy, hence no left strings. Therefore, it is hypocrisy, to some degree, to accept and teach these major Gospel changes, and at the same time, wear the opposite as symbolized in the original garment.
89. For instance, the collar - the crown of the Priesthood and yoke of Christ. But, Pres. Stephen L. Richards tells us: "To see to it that we teach nothing but what has the approval of the General Authorities." Also: the basic teachings of our first three Presidents and Apostles of that day are tabooed, just history. Pres. Richards also tells us: that when they hold up twelve thumbs, that is Church doctrine. They also tell us that Pres. Grant and Pres. McKay are the seers of our day. Therefore, the true Divine Gospel, collar, and the yoke of Christ are gone.
90. Take the three strings on the right side, the Trinity. Now we have traded Michael, our God Father, off for Eloheim. We have also adopted the firstborn son - the Christ of the Eloheim Kingdom, Yahovah, instead of Michael's firstborn spirit Son - Jesus, Jehovah Christ. We also deny that Joseph Smith is the personality, the third in the Trinity, who presides and directs that great Spirit substance called the Holy Spirit or Ghost.
91. Therefore, our original Trinity, or Godhead, is gone, and so with the three strings in the right side. As to the three strings on the left side, representing the man and his two minimum wives necessary for them to enter our Father and Savior's Glory are also gone with plurality of wives.
92. This holy Celestial marriage is now officially branded by LDS leaders as whoredom and the children are called bastards, and our Leaders refuse to permit them to be baptized.
93. Now comes the Square. But we are no longer divinely square with God or ourselves. So we have turned the square right side over. or reversed. We now mark it on our garments down and out --and that is our position today.
94. The compass, the symbol that God will truly guide you, providing you stay within your divine rights by following the man who follows God. But, we substitute our present day prophets and seers as present day guides, as senior to Joseph Smith. So what is the use for this divine compass. It has become a dead symbol.
95. It is now obvious that our Gospel changes are truly parallel with our garment changes. In fact the garment changes were made to match, go together.
96. About 95 out of 100 LDS tell us; that single Temple marriages are eternal. Hence, they now reject many revelations, sermons, Joseph Smith and Pres. John Taylor's instructions pertaining to the three left strings on this divine garment. This bold course is mortal insanity. In answer, I quote Pres. Joseph F. Smith, a very learned witness, if you please.
97. "The marriage of one woman to a man for time and eternity by the sealing power . . . is a fulfillment of the Celestial law of marriage in PART . . . But this is only the beginning of the law, not the whole of it. Therefore, whoever has imagined that he could obtain a fullness of the blessings pertaining to this Celestial law, by complying with only a portion of its condition, has deceived himself. He cannot do it . . . I understand the laws of Celestial marriage to mean that every man in this Church who has the ability to obey and practice it in righteousness and will not, shall be damned . . . and I testify in the name of Jesus that it does mean that." J. of D. 20:26-31. Apostle Heber J. Grant years ago preached that we must burn at the stake, if necessary, to live that law.
98. From this picture it is obvious that our Church is in a mess and truly ripe to be divinely set in order according to prophecy. Our national government is also facing divine destruction, if God sees fit to fulfill His many prophecies. According to Joseph Smith, Heber C. Kimball and Wilford Woodruff, it is to be: "utterly overthrown". Hist. Rec. 7:514. D. & C. 64:37-43;87:4-8.
99. In conclusion: we know that Father Adam, our Savior and Joseph Smith wore this original pattern. In Holy visions our Savior has appeared in these garments, nothing else -- directing others to wear them. According to Gospel law, we will become EUNUCHS hereafter if we fail.
100. In Pres. Joseph F. Smith's signed instructions of June 28, 1916, outlining how the garment must be cut and worn, also said: The saints should know that the pattern of endowment Garment was revealed from Heaven, and chat the blessings promised in connection with wearing them will not be realized if any unauthorized (man) change is made in their form or in the manner of wearing them. "Truth Magazine, Jan. 1939. Just how you can live chat certain plural law I do not know. But you can wear the Lord's Garment -- as that is my subject.
101. All branches of Christendom seek to reach the Celestial New Jerusalem. There are 12 gates; but the Patriarchal Law is written over each gate. There will also be 12 guarding angels there to stop the unqualified from entering in.
102. John, the Revelator, saw in vision this Holy City and future throne of God. I shall briefly quote it and close. "Chapter 21. And I saw a new Heaven and a new earth . . . and I, John, saw the Holy City, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of Heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for ha husband . . . Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them . . . for the former things are passed away . . . He chat OVER COMETH shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my Son. But the fearful and the unbelieving ... and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire . . . and he . . . shown me that great city, the Holy Jerusalem descending out of heaven . . . and had a wall great and high and had 12 gates, and at the gates 12 angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the 12 tribes of Israel; . . . and the city lieth four-square . . . and he shewed me a pure river of water of Life; . . . and on either side of the river was there the Tree of Life, which bare 12 manner of fruits, every month . . . and they shall see His face; and His name" (i.e. God) "shall be in their foreheads . . . Blessed are they who do his commandments, that they may have right to the Tree of Life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. . . whosoever loveth and maketh a lie."
103. Brethren and sisters, the reward is glorious, but the road thereto is often rough and rugged. The Father, the Savior and Joseph Smith made it, and so can we. I now quote Joseph's warning against our procrastination. I quote from his "Teachings", first edition. pages 47 and 63. "In the midst of all this, the day of the Lord fast approaching when NONE except those who have WON the Wedding Garment will be permitted to eat and drink in the presence of the Bridegroom, the Prince of Peace." Page 63. "Those who are found faithful to the Lord, are the individuals who will be found worthy to inherit a SEAT at the Marriage Supper."
104. There you have your answer. Your ignoring this true pattern and substituting these many modern styles, will cost you the two highest of the three Celestial Glories. You may inherit the middle and ever regret what you might have been. You may inherit your wives and have Spirit Children, but you will be penalized from bringing them into mortality and becoming Gods and Goddesses over your own children. They will obtain their mortality by adopting themselves to those in the Highest Glory.
105. Now what have we: First, immersion baptism, divinely performed, carries you into the "Kingdom of God" says Brigham Young. Second: Our properly wearing this true pattern of the "Marriage garment," entitled you to a seat at the "Marriage Supper of the Lamb". Three: the three strings on the left side, symbolizing yourself and two righteous wives will justify that Holy Angel to swing open that highest Celestial Gate leading you and yours into the throne and Kingdom of our God Father and Redeemer. An Indian in high authority, recently told me that: "Two good wives much better than one; but 4 more better than 12."
106. The obtaining of this true pattern of the "Marriage Garment" is being made more difficult each year by the LDS leaders. The sooner you obtain them, you will at least have this part of that necessary oil in your lamps: if properly worn up to your grave, or to His coming in "Glory".
107. Get yourself right with God, set your homes in order, clothe yourself with His Priesthood Marriage Garments, follow only men who follow God in their teaching the true Gospel, and let the world laugh themselves into Hell.
108. This much I will tell you: divine plagues, and Indian tomahawks are much closer than you think. Learn to love and follow- your Lord, then you will cherish to wear His "Marriage Garment", live his religion and gain his protection and future glory.
109. P.S. Question No. 1: Was President John Taylor a prophet on September 27, 1886 when "he stood in mid-air with a halo of light around him", when he foretold that our modern leaders would change this "Marriage Garment?" That: "the church would go into bondage both temporally and spiritually"; that: "The one Mighty and Strong spoken of in the 85th Section of the Doctrine and Covenants would come"; that "I would be surprised if 10% of those who claim to hold the Melchizedek Priesthood will."
